Toninho Dingl's work is characterized by a dialectical approach and treatment of things. He seeks to work out the contradictions or tensions that arise from everyday experiences, allowing the things themselves to speak—or even to dance. Following the maxim: the liquefaction of petrified conditions.
The shopping bag, is a dialectical work on the sublation of the industrial shopping bags and generates through a new material, ceramic: the dissolution of the mass-produced object, the preservation of its iconography, and its elevation to a poetic level. It reveals the special or the unique within the common through the new material, ceramics which in turn generates new contradictions manifested in its fragility and folds.
